Free AI education, built by students for students
NextGenAI exists so that learning about artificial intelligence is never limited by cost. This page shows what we have actually built, what we are working on next, and what we have not done yet.
Our mission
We make high-quality AI education free, self-paced, and understandable for everyone. We want learners to understand how AI works, question it with confidence, and use it well.
Our story
NextGenAI was founded in January 2024 by Nathan Leitan. It started by running a workshop with a few elementary schools, and we have since shared NextGenAI with schools in Sri Lanka. Today a nine-person student team guides the curriculum, product, outreach, operations, and community work.

Completed work and planned work
What exists today

- An interactive Prompt Lab with eight challenges that teach how to write and check AI prompts.
- Live classes and workshops taught by our team.
- A school workshop with a few elementary schools, and sharing with schools in Sri Lanka.
- A monthly newsletter and a blog with AI news and explainers.
What we are working toward
- Making NextGenAI fully self-run, so learning does not depend on any one teacher.
- New classes on getting more out of AI tools.
- Collecting learner feedback, with permission, to improve the courses.
Planned items are goals, not finished work.
What we have not published yet
We have no peer-reviewed publications, outcome studies, or formal partnerships to report at this time, and we will not list any until they are real. When we have learner results or partner organizations to share, they will appear here with the method and the date.
